In October, Nate and I decided to explore the island a bit more. One of our weekends we went to go check out the popular Hiji Falls. It's a pretty easy hike, about 2 km into the waterfall and beautiful scenery along the way. Although we're definitely still trying to get used to this humidity! #californiapeeps #humidityiskillingus

This year we got to attend the Naha Tug of War which is the biggest tug of war event and straw made rope in the world. I was excited to attend since I had read about this before we came here. Other cities around the island have their own Tug of War festivals in the months leading up to this but Naha holds the main event in early October.

So Nate has been bugging me since we got to Okinawa to get scuba certified so we can start exploring dive sites around Okinawa together (He got his cert when he was deployed here in 2012). I finally did it and had an absolute blast! I signed up for a private class with one of Nate's friends from work wife, Stacy, and her friend Angeline. I was impressed with Angeline since she had only been here two weeks and did this with us and it took me 2.5 months to get my shit together #goals |
