Between our trips this summer to Taipei, Bali, the Keramas, and hiking Mt Fuji, we also had a great time around Okinawa, eating out, drinking with friends, flyboarding, and hanging out at the beach! This summer started out with my 30th birthday. Nate and I celebrated by going to dinner at Auberge Bonne Chare Raout, a french restaurant in Okinawa. Here we got to enjoy a 4 course dinner starting with a bread basket with homemade butter and jam, a starter plate, some pasta, clams, and then cheesecake for dessert :)
Since I was born in '86, I opted for an 80's themed party. We were supposed to have my party at Okinawa Brewing Company, but unfortunately due to some nimwits drinking and driving around the island, the military went on lockdown and made it so no one in the military was allowed at bars for the next month. This rule went into effect 1 day before my party..... #awesometiming #besmart #dontdrinkanddrive So we had a little get together at our house for the people that were willing and able to come for some pizza, cake, and beers.
In May we also got to go help celebrate Okinawa Brewing Company's 1 year anniversary down in American Village with our friend Rikko and Chica. It was complete with a dj and all - fun sunday afternoon!
This summer we also go to try out flyboarding! Our friend Hiro owns the flyboarding business (contact info at the bottom of the blog). It was super fun to try - can't wait to try it some more!
The day we tried out flyboarding, we also got to enjoy a friend's going away party at Kadena Marina. Here we met a fun couple, Jenna and Brian, who unfortunately were moving to Germany in a few weeks! #bummer #funnighttho
Throughout the summer, we also enjoyed some poker nights and tournaments at Jeff's house #alwaysagoodtime Nate and I usually were in the top 3 to finish #notbad
Some beautiful sunsets in Okinawa
Also enjoyed some rounds of golf...
Some beach time at Courtney beach. Here we were able to bring Ricky Bobby with us to enjoy the sunshine :)
Got to meet our friend's, Miwa and Richard, beautiful new baby, Ryu. #adorbs
Enjoyed some random, skype wine nights with friends across the world for hours! #nightshift #jessthemess #loveher #needmoreofthese
And of course we fit in some fun double date nights at local izakayas
